Flea – Orignial Short

Flea is an original short drama commissioned for broadcast on BBC Three and iPlayer. It was directed by Vanessa Caswill and centers around a British girl living with domestic violence. It uses spoken word and poetry to act as the narration and dialog within the film, this is so we can see the world from her point of view and the way her mind works within it. The whole thing was shot in 3 days and follows Flea as she struggles with the violence in her family and the heroic steps she takes to free them from her step dad.

I really like the way that this was filmed, using constant 4th wall breaks in order to guide the audience through the story coupled with an emotive narration. This is a very original way to display these ideas and follow the story.
