Comic art festival is an international event held in kendal focusing on showcasing some of the best comic art work around. This is the 4th year that the festival has been running and aims to provide a cultural rather than commercial celebration of the art with the intent of making people take comics more seriously. This is the only comic art festival in the UK and will attract a wide range of people from all over the country and even abroad as well.
When speaking to the organizer of the festival she outlined how important she felt it was to open peoples eyes to the range and quality of the artwork across a large selection of genres. This means that our audience will be extremely diverse, the age range of our audience is expected to be from around 14-50 with the majority of people being 16-25.
We can assume however that the majority of our audience will be interested in the comic book franchise and more specifically the work of Mark Millar as that is the theme for the displays at ruskins bar. Seen as the location is a pub most of our audience will be over 18 however it is still a family festival so we must make sure that what we produce is appropriate for all ages.
