Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone has got to be the most inspirational film for me. I think because it brings a massive part of my childhood to life.

One of the most incredible things about the films has got to be the attention to detail; visiting the warner bros studio in London and seeing the amount of work gone into making everything is breathtaking. Especially the gigantic model of Hogwarts they used for the overhead shots of the school.

I’ve always loved Harry Potter because it beautifully shows some of life’s biggest moments like love, loss and friendship. For me it shows how magical film can be, taking one woman’s idea and bringing a whole world to life.

Good stuff, Matthew. Next time, try and be a bit more specific about how the filmmakers achieve such an inspiring piece—and I agree Harry Potter is inspiring—remembering that the key to all of this, and developing your own skills, is in understanding HOW and WHY something is put together so effectively. Good stuff!
